The Dark Edge astronomy competition, organized by the Astronomy and Space Science Association of Richmond College, began in 2009 as a collaborative night observational event with Mahinda College. Aimed at promoting astronomy and providing a platform for young enthusiasts, it evolved to include both observational and theoretical challenges, fostering a deeper passion for the cosmos. Successfully held in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, and 2016, the competition took an eight-year hiatus due to various reasons. Now, in 2024, Dark Edge returns, reigniting its mission to inspire and celebrate the next generation of stargazers and astronomy lovers.
The Astronomy & Space Science Association of Richmond College proudly presents The Dark Edge '24, an inter-school astronomical quiz celebrating the mysteries of the cosmos.
